Dear Authors,
The organizing committee of IAKE wishes to thank you for your decision to participate in the proceedings of the 2nd IAKE Conference , which will be held in Heraklion, Crete from 1-3 April 2016.
We are looking forward to your contribution to the fruitful discussion of a wide range of scientific issues raised during the Conference.
Regarding your participation, we would like to inform you that the full paper must be handed for review in no later than 28th February 2016. The length of your paper should be between 2,500 and 4,000 words (including abstract, tables, and references).
Authors’ participation to the Conference has been set to the amount of 50 Euros for every participant. Participation comprises the following: Conference folder, a copy of the Abstracts booklet , Volume of Conference proceedings, Certificate of Author Participation and coffee during the breaks. The full amount of money required for participation must be deposited no later than the 20th February 2016 in the following Bank Account: Bank of Pireaus, Acc. No 6556-136435-230 IBAN: GR18 0171 5560 0065 5613 6435 230 named ΙΝΣΤΙΤΟΥΤΟ ΑΝΘΡΩΠΙΣΤΙΚΩΝ ΚΑΙ ΚΟΙΝΩΝΙΚΩΝ ΕΠΙΣΤΗΜΩΝ (INSTITUTE OF HUMANITIES AND SOCIAL SCIENCES). The Bank receipt needs to be scanned and sent to the following e-mail: [email protected] . Attendance to the conference without paper submition has been set to 10 Εuros. It comprises the following: a Conference folder, a copy of the book of abstracts, Certificate of Attendance and coffee during the breaks. Depositing the above sum can be done on the day of admission to the Conference at the Registration Desk.
You will find instructions for authoring and formatting your paper at the Conference website: iake.weebly.com. We also urge you to visit the website regularly, as there will be frequent postings, concerning your accommodation and social programme during your stay in Heraklion. Special offers from local hotels for Conference participants have been arranged for your convenience. In case you need any further information do not hesitate to contact us.

The Conference aims to serve as a forum for academics, researchers, local–self government officials, educators, undergraduate and post graduate students as well as people involved in planning, development, innovation, sustainability, cultural administration and communication. The conference is also open to every individual wishing to participate in a salutary consideration on issues relevant to the topics of the Conference. Authors are invited to submit original papers, panel proposals, posters or workshop proposals. The Conference aims to address main issues of concern such as:

Abstracts must be sent by email to the following website: iake.weebly.com not later than Friday January 15th, 2016 Papers should be submitted as a standard attached file in MS Word. The filename to be submitted must conform to the following form e.g John-Smith_ΙΑΚΕ_Abstract . You will receive an acknowledgement of receipt within two or three days. All submissions, except invited talks, are subject to a blind reviewing process. Acceptance of any contributions will be primarily based on its originality, innovation and quality. All accepted papers have to be presented during the conference and they will be published in the conference proceedings.
The length of the abstract should be a maximum of 300 words. It should give enough information to provide the reader with a full picture of the topic that the paper covers including the following: aims, design, methodology, approach, findings, practical implications, and contributions of the paper. It is not an introduction. Citing bibliographic references should be avoided.
Abstract Submission Guidelines
- Mention the title of the paper, workshop, panel proposal or poster.
- Mention Fullname, affiliation, postal and email addresses, contact phone numbers as well as the Topic of Interest. In the event that authors are more than one, the name of the author who will present the paper at the conference must be marked with an asterisk(*).
- The title of the abstract should use the Normal style (Times New Roman, 12-point, alignment justify, lower case). Authors names, affiliation, postal and email addresses, should be printed in italics, lowercase underneath the title, left alignment (Truetype font Times New Roman 12). The text must be in Single-line spacing without extra space between the paragraphs, not indented (Truetype font Times New Roman 12). In case term abbreviations are used they must be mentioned in full only for the first time.

- The role of Local Government in supporting the local educational institutions contributing to the enhancement of school infrastructure and aesthetic integrity.
- Defining obligations of Municipality, regarding various educational issues.

Important Note: All papers should be written in Greek or English. All submitted abstracts should be formatted by completing the attached abstract submission template. Abstracts which do not comply with abstract submission specifications will not be accepted for publication and presentation. It should also be noted that each author may participate with no more than two papers and there must not be more than three authors per paper.
Following the acceptance of the abstract, the full paper must be sent not later than February 22nd ,2016, in order to be included in the Conference proceedings.
